Rink range delivers versatile and adaptable topdressing

With end of season renovations in progress or approaching, topdressing will undoubtedly be back on the agenda. The Rink Topdresser range from Redexim includes both ‘broadcast’ and ‘drop’ models, in a variety of sizes and breadth of spreading widths, to suit a variety of applications.

The Rink collection of broadcast dressers are termed as such because of the use of spinning discs which offer spreading widths of between 2m and 15m. At the smaller end of the range, the Rink DS800 is a compact unit offering a 0.8 cubic metre hopper capacity and is available in both trailed and mounted formats. It can offer a spreading thickness of up to 15mm for small-grained, loose material, such as sand, small granular material or similar products. The largest model, the Rink DS3800, has a 3.8 cubic metre hopper and has the option of an additional cross conveyor.

For Sussex-based R J Jochimsen Contractors Ltd, their Rink DS3800 provides the versatility and adaptability to tackle topdressing across a wide range of sports surfaces. “We’ve had the Rink for over three years now and put over 3000 tons of sand through it per year” explains MD Rob. “It’s an excellent machine that gives us the capacity and accuracy in adjustment of spreading width and depth we need to suit the surface we’re working on – whether that’s football, rugby, polo, golf fairways or other sports fields. Another benefit of the Rink is that it has its own integrated hydraulic system which means we can use it on a smaller tractor, when we need to, without worries over oil flow.”
